Apostolic Nuncio leads celebrations for Feast of St Ignatius Loyola

Archbishop Buendía preaches during the Mass
His Excellency Archbishop Miguel Maury Buendía, Apostolic Nuncio to Great Britain, was the Principal Celebrant and Preacher at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Farm Street Church on Saturday for the Patronal Feast of St Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus.
The beautiful music performed by Farm Street choir under the leadership of organist and director David Graham included pieces by Bach, Malcolm, Mozart, Luca Uggias and Weitz.
The world premier of Soul of Christ by Luca Uggias was one of the two Communion motets.
Luca is Associate fellow in Music at Campion Hall, Oxford. He is a composer, producer, pianist and arranger. His Mass of the Immaculate Conception, premiered at Farm Street church in 2021 was commission by them to promote configurational singing along with the professional choir.

After the Mass the congregation gathered in the church halls and garden for refreshments.
There were also celebrations for the feast of St Ignatius at the Jesuit parishes and communities around the UK including Stamford Hill, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Preston, ,Stonyhurst, St Joseph's School Chapel, Hurst Green, Manchester Universities Catholic Chaplaincy, Southall and the Polish Parish in Walm Lane.
