Wrapping London in Mary's mantle

Hundreds of pilgrims met at the same time in different parts of London on Saturday, to walk and pray the Rosary on every section of the 78-mile Capital Ring route that encircles the inner city.
Organised by Radio Maria, who described the walk as "an invitation to take faith out of church buildings and into the streets, parks and green spaces of London, meeting the city where it is" - the trail took people through parks, nature reserves, rivers and many historic landmarks.
Fr Toby Lees OP, Priest Director of Radio Maria England, based at the Rosary Shrine, Haverstock Hill, who led a group from St Joseph's, Highgate, (pictured) said: "The Capital Ring Rosary is an opportunity for the faithful of London and beyond to step out in prayer, enveloping their fellow Londoners in prayer, as a way of showing their love for all the residents of our great city, trusting that Our Lady hears and prays with and for us, every step along the way."
(Note- today was incredibly hot - I hope people managed to find shady places to walk and stop for cool drinks! See more pictures on ICN's Facebook page)
