London: Radio Maria plans Capital Ring Rosary

Source: Radio Maria England

Radio Maria is recruiting hundreds of pilgrims to walk and pray the Rosary on different sections of the famous 78-mile walking route that encircles inner London on Saturday 23rd May 2026.

Groups of people of all ages and backgrounds will be gathering simultaneously at 15 different sections along the Capital Ring in a bold and joyful act of public witness, creating what organisers are calling a symbolic wrapping of Mary's Mantle around London.

Radio Maria England has long believed in the power of prayer to transform hearts and communities. The Capital Ring Rosary is a response to that conviction - an invitation to take faith out of church buildings and into the streets, parks and green spaces of London, meeting the city where it is.

Fr Toby Lees OP, Priest Director of Radio Maria England, said: "Prayer is an act of love and Jesus tells us to 'love our neighbour'. Too much media uses division and discord as its oxygen. Radio Maria is different, ours is not a polemical and angry station, but a simple preaching of the love of God for all, day in day out, and an exhortation to love our neighbour in the same way. The Capital Ring Rosary is an opportunity for the faithful of London and beyond to step out in prayer, enveloping their fellow Londoners in prayer, as a way of showing their love for all the residents of our great city, trusting that Our Lady hears and prays with and for us, every step along the way.

The Capital Ring is a well-loved, waymarked walking route that circles inner London through parks, nature reserves, rivers and historic landmarks. On 23rd May, Radio Maria England will divide the route into 15 sections, with a group of pilgrims assigned to each, so that the entire ring is walked and prayed simultaneously.

Participants are invited to register for a route, gather with their group at the designated start point and pray the Rosary together at 2pm as they walk. No specialist equipment or fitness level is required - only a willing heart.

The event is open to all - Catholics, Christians of other traditions, and anyone who wishes to walk and pray. Families, parishes, school groups and individuals are all warmly encouraged to take part. Route leaders will be in place to guide and support each group throughout the day.

Inti Paolucci, President of Radio Maria England, said: "Our Lady has called us here. We believe that prayer already walks the streets of this city each day through the lives of the faithful. On 23rd May, we want that prayer to be visible, united, and joyful. We invite every Catholic in London, and every friend of Radio Maria, to join us."
