Christmas Message from Laudato Si' Movement

As our global Laudato Si' family arrives at Christmas after this Advent pilgrimage, we pause at the manger-not as strangers, but as sisters and brothers who have journeyed together with hope in our hearts and creation in our care.
This season, Pope Leo XIV reminded us that Advent teaches us to "wait in active hope". And that is exactly what our community has lived. Across languages, cultures, and continents, we walked this holy season as pilgrims who know that God is already at work-and that He invites us to join Him.
Throughout 2025, our movement didn't just talk about hope.
We raised hope into action. Together.
We prayed as one global family-from forests to barrios, cathedrals to coastline chapels-letting creation itself shape our worship and deepen our ecological spirituality.
We strengthened our community, implementing practical sustainability projects, supporting one another through local challenges, sharing stories of courage, and reminding each other that conversion grows when we walk side by side.
We acted boldly, elevating Catholic voices in climate justice spaces, empowering grassroots leaders, and celebrating the 10th anniversary of Laudato Si' and the Jubilee for Creation with renewed passion.
And this Advent, we rediscovered the beauty of pilgrimage:
the slow steps of conversion, the small daily choices, the quiet moments of prayer that open our hearts to God's dream for our common home.
Christmas now meets us at the end of this journey-not as a finish line, but as a gentle invitation. In the Child born in Bethlehem, Hope takes flesh. God draws close to remind us that creation is loved, that humanity is capable of change, and that our community has a role in healing the world.
This Christmas, may we hear His invitation with new tenderness:
To hope is to participate.
To believe is to act.
To love is to move together.
Thank you, Laudato Si' family, for every step of this year's pilgrimage-
for the prayers, the advocacy, the creativity, the tears, the courage, and the unwavering belief that everything is connected.
May the peace of Christ rekindle our strength.
May His birth renew our mission.
And may we enter 2026 ready to keep raising hope into action-together.
Merry Christmas, to you and your families!
