Two ways to experience Palestine this October

Every autumn, Palestinian farmers bring in the olive harvest - a vital act of cultural survival, carried out under mounting pressure from settler violence and land seizures.

This October, the Amos Trust is running two trips to Palestine during harvest season, each offering a different way to stand alongside our partners and see the situation on the ground for yourself.

Whether you're new to Palestine or returning, whether you want to witness and learn, or work alongside farmers in the groves, there's a trip here for you.

Experience Palestine

Meet local Palestinians in Bethlehem, Jerusalem and Nazareth.

This trip is for anyone who wants a first-hand understanding of how things stand in Palestine today - whether you're returning or visiting for the first time. There's no fixed itinerary, as plans respond to changing conditions on the ground, but you'll spend most of your time based in Bethlehem before concluding with a short stay in Nazareth.

You'll visit Bethlehem, Jerusalem and the surrounding areas, including historic sites most visitors never see. You'll meet local communities, hear about the pressures many are facing today, and see the impact of settler violence and Israel's annexation policies first-hand.

You can also extend your trip for personal travel, or to volunteer with one of our partners.

Harvest Palestine

Roll up your sleeves and put your solidarity into action. This trip is for activists - people who want to offer a practical, protective presence alongside Palestinian farmers during their most critical time of year. Whether you've been to Palestine many times or are looking to engage deeply for the first time, this trip is for anyone ready to get hands-on.

You will:

- spend your days in the groves helping local farmers bring in their olives, a vital act that keeps Palestinian agricultural heritage alive and protects land under threat.

- take part in hands-on projects supporting local communities beyond the harvest.

- spend time with inspirational local partner organisations, hearing about their work in creative resistance, advocacy and human rights.

- visit local communities and hear first-hand about the pressures they face daily, including settler violence and the impact of Israel's annexation policies.

There's no fixed itinerary - we'll adapt to changing conditions and go where we're needed most, based around Bethlehem or Birzeit, with exact locations confirmed closer to the time.

Please note:

This is a physically demanding trip involving long days of manual labour, walking on uneven terrain and working outdoors in the heat. It's not suitable for anyone with mobility issues or significant health concerns - participants must be physically active and fully able to engage in strenuous outdoor work.
