The 48th National Justice and Peace Conference takes place at Swanwick from 24-26 July. The focus of this year's Conference is JUST TALK. Andy Burnham is listed as an invited keynote speaker, though his participation is noted as 'subject to availability'. The full list of speakers should be announced soon.
The organisers say: "In a world of disinformation, sound bites and echo chambers, the conference will explore how we promote genuine communication and encounter through areas such as the media, arts, education, diplomacy and political engagement led always by the Spirit of Truth.
Our aims - to increase participants understanding of how language and other forms of communication are used or misused in our current context. And - to help participants challenge disinformation and divisive rhetoric, change narratives, foster dialogue and encounter, and speak truth to power."
The organisers have extended the deadline for Conference bookings for another couple of days, and are now offering a limited number of places for 18-35 year olds at £150 each if they are interested in social action/justice and peace.
