London: Emergency peace vigil

Peace campaigners plan to hold an emergency vigil in London on Wednesday evening, after President Trump made further aggressive threats toward Iran on Tuesday.
President Trump warned yesterday: "a whole civilisation will die tonight" if his ultimatum expires, signalling a massive military attack on Iran's infrastructure and population, with threats of large-scale destruction and wiping out much of Iran in a single night.
These statements were described as "apocalyptic" and have drawn urgent calls for peace from faith leaders and politicians around the world.
At RAF Lakenheath, which is being used exclusively by the United State Air Force and is sending fighter jets to the Iran war, 14 people were arrested today for obstructing the main gates to the base for six hours.
RAF bases Lakenheath and nearby Mildenhall have also supported Israel's genocide in Gaza. Nuclear bombs returned to Lakenheath last summer. Marie Walsh, a retired teacher from Didcot said: "We are here to interrupt business as usual, and to say in the name of humanity 'STOP'"
In London, peace campaigners plan to gather for an emergency vigil at Downing Street, SW1A 1AA at 6.30pm, to appeal for the US to stop bombing Iran and calling for the UK government to stop allowing America to use British airbases.
