Peace Sunday: Pax Christi Youth Forum Statement

"We strongly believe that peace is a choice we must make again and again. As you teach us, peace is unarmed: it is active and nonviolent. Peace is the verb, the action, of the Gospel."

With these words, the young people of the Pax Christi Youth Forum, formed during the 2025 World Gathering, wished to respond to the message launched by Pope Leo XIV on the occasion of the World Day of Peace.

In the coming months, the newly established group will work together to carry forward the mission of Pax Christi International from a youth perspective, walking together in the building of bridges and processes of Nonviolence. And to send out a strong and clear message: young people do not want to be merely the recipients of peace; they want to take an active role in building it.
