In the Shadows of the Holy Land: Ancient Roots, Modern Fears: Christians in Palestine

Common Home TV has just released Episode 3 of In the Shadows of the Holy Land, titled Ancient Roots, Modern Fears: Christians in Palestine. This episode features an extensive and deeply personal conversation with Sami El-Yousef, CEO of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem and a lifelong Christian resident of the Old City.
Sami offers a rare, detailed look at the Christian presence across Palestine and Gaza today. He reflects on the devastation unfolding in Gaza and the West Bank, the collapse of essential services, and the growing despair among families who have endured two years of conflict. Yet he also outlines the steadfast mission of the Church: schools that continue to educate, institutions that provide humanitarian aid, and pastoral leaders who refuse to stay silent in the face of injustice.
One of the most striking parts of the interview is Sami's insistence that the most urgent need is not only financial support, but solidarity through truthful communication. He says clearly that "the greatest solidarity is to get the word out", to ensure the reality on the ground reaches people inpositions of influence."
When Sami said, "the greatest solidarity is to get the word out, we took that to heart," said Matthew Howard, Executive Producer of Common Home TV.
"He told us clearly that what is most needed now is truthful public communication that reaches decision makers. We are honoured to respond to that call. We hope this episode has done their Catholic community justice, and we pray it is shared far and wide."
This episode continues the series' commitment to amplifying voices who live the daily realities of conflict with clarity, honesty and hope. Episode one and two can be found at commonhome.tv..
