Faith and Fellowship at Luton Irish Forum Foot Clinic

Pretty in Pink
Rosé, Roses & The Rosary - The Luton Irish Forum's Footworks Social, an affordable foot care clinic for older members of the Irish community, recently marked its second anniversary with a celebration of faith, friendship, and care.
The event began with patients receiving treatments from podiatrists Sarah and Maria, while enjoying a warm social atmosphere with rosé wine, sandwiches, and pink-themed treats. The centrepiece of the day was a prayerful moment led by Dr/Sr Marie Henry Keane OP from Rosary Priory, Bushey, who guided all present in praying the Rosary.
"As many who come to the foot clinic are Catholic, we wanted this anniversary to be a thanksgiving to God and a way to honour Our Lady," said Sarah Finucane, founder of the Footworks Social. "Pink roses, symbolising grace and admiration, decorated our table. We wore pink scrubs and invited patients to wear something pink too - and they didn't disappoint! The room was filled with colour, prayer, laughter, and joy."
After the Rosary, the celebration continued in true Irish tradition with a lively sing-song led by LIF member Denis Halfpenny, lifting hearts and voices in community spirit.
Sarah added: "Our work is about more than foot care - it's about dignity, companionship, and faith. Seeing people leave with lighter steps and lighter hearts is a blessing. We are so grateful to the London and Luton Irish businesses whose generous donations allow us to keep this service affordable for those most in need."
The Footworks Social runs regularly at the Luton Irish Forum, providing affordable podiatry care and a welcoming space for older members to connect, share, and strengthen their faith together.
