From August 1 to 3, 2025, the Vocations Office of the Latin Patriarchate held a camp for youth aged 14 to 18, titled 'Veni et Vide' ('Come and See'), in collaboration with the Seminary of Beit Jala.
Young people from various parishes of the Diocese of Jerusalem participated in the three-day camp, held at the Latin Seminary in Beit Jala. The camp offered a unique opportunity to delve into the theme of vocation and explore its presence in daily life. The program included reflective and formative talks on vocation and spiritual discernment, sessions on the Sacrament of Reconciliation, the foundations of Christian faith, and the challenges young people face in living their vocation amid today's realities.
A highlight of the camp was a Jubilee pilgrimage to the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, during which the youth had the opportunity to spend time in prayer and reflection on the mystery of the Incarnation, connecting the vocation experience to its roots in the life of Jesus Christ. Participants were also introduced to seminary life through their stay at the institute, taking part in liturgical prayers, daily Mass, and communal life with priests and seminarians.
The camp was not only spiritually enriching but also communal, bringing together youth from diverse backgrounds in a spirit of unity, eager to better understand God's will in their lives and remain open to the possibility of a priestly or consecrated vocation.
This year's Vocation Camp marked another step in the Church's ongoing journey of accompanying young people and its commitment to fostering a culture of vocation and discernment in a world in need of faithful and joyful witnesses.
