Creating an encounter of hearts - online

'It turns out that preaching is going to be the easy bit. What I'm struggling the most with is prayer.' This week's conversation on the All Kinds of Catholic podcast features Anna, speaking here about her decision to become a Lay Dominican, after 20 years of resistance to 'nudging' from God.

This week, in his address to Catholic Digital Missionaries and Influencers, Pope Leo said, 'We have a duty to work together to develop a way of thinking, to develop a language, of our time, that gives voice to Love … creating an encounter of hearts.' The podcast captures the voices and experiences of Catholic people drawn from the breadth of the church. Listeners can 'encounter' fellow Catholics and be encouraged and sometimes challenged by their efforts to live, and to express, their faith. Pope Leo went on to describe digital networks of love and truth where 'every story of shared goodness will be a knot in a single, immense network: the network of networks, the network of God.'

Upcoming episodes of the All Kinds of Catholic podcast feature a striking variety of conversations. An American professor describes his family's connection to the Manhattan Project - building the world's first atomic bombs. His research led him to Nagasaki and a new project of peace and hope, dedicated to St Kateri Tekakwitha. Another guest describes his devotion to Our Lady, and the LGBT+ ministry he feels called to. There is a conversation about conversation! - and its value in helping nurture faith in ourselves and others.

If you already listen, share the podcast with friends and parishioners. Follow the social media and get in touch to let the podcast host, Theresa Alessandro, know what you think.

The All Kinds of Catholic podcast is created and hosted by Theresa Alessandro. In each episode, Theresa is in conversation with a different Catholic guest exploring how they live their faith in the world today. Guests will often be people who are not in the public eye. Taken together, their stories illustrate the image Pope Francis uses in Evangelii Gaudium, of a 'chaotic…genuine experience of fraternity, a caravan of solidarity, a sacred pilgrimage' experienced by Catholic people 'stepping into this floodtide' of life.
