Podcast and film series for Season of Creation

From September 1st (the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation) to October 4th (the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi), Christians around the world celebrate the Season of Creation. Following in the footsteps of the Orthodox Church, Catholics are encouraged to organize prayer and practical initiatives to combat the environmental crisis facing our common home.

This "time for creation" offers, in the words of Pope Francis, "individual believers and communities a fitting opportunity to reaffirm their personal vocation to be stewards of creation."

To help you celebrate this special time of year, the Columbans have made podcast mini-series about biodiversity and our sacred story Jubilee for the Earth.

Over the course of twelve episodes, they explore the beauty of biodiversity and the threats it faces.

They say: "Grounded in Catholic Social Teaching, we hope that this podcast will help us all to see how caring for our common home is fundamental to our lives as people of faith and as global citizens.

"Our first episode is called 'The Spirituality of Biodiversity,' and features a conversation between Columban priest Fr Dan Troy and geologist and botanist Dr John Feehan.

"You can find the episode on the website , listen on Apple, Spotify, or SoundCloud, or watch the video on Facebook or YouTube.

"We hope you enjoy Jubilee for the Earth, and that these next five weeks are a time of study, prayer, and action for our common home."
