Jonathan Roumie to speak in online Alpha leadership conference

Catholic actor/director Jonathan Roumie, best-known for his award-winning performance as Jesus in the groundbreaking series The Chosen, will be joining John Mark Comer, Christine Caine, Siya & Rachel Kolisi and Tracy Ifeachor, in the online global Leadership Conference from Alpha this week. Christians of all denominations around the world are being offered the opportunity "to gather in unity and hope at this time of unprecedented instability."

Tens of thousands of people from all around the world have already signed up to attend the event , which will be aired in four different time slots to allow every time zone the chance to participate.

The conference, which will be live streamed from Holy Trinity Brompton (HTB) Church in London on Monday and Tuesday this week, 2 and 3 May. The event is free to all attendees and will be hosted by pioneer of Alpha, Nicky Gumbel and his wife Pippa. Each event will be 2.5 hours long. The conference will be interpreted into 17 languages - making it the most globally-oriented Leadership Conference to date.

The event is designed to share hope. The key themes will focus on encouraging the church to unite around our shared mission of reaching the nations with the gospel, revitalising the church and transforming society.

Nicky says: "The Leadership Conference is a unique opportunity for the global church to gather - across borders, denominations, cultures and generations. We believe this is a pivotal moment in history and the church can play its part by sharing the hope, love and transforming message of Jesus Christ."

The first Leadership Conference took place 12 years ago at HTB Church. Since then, it's grown in size and impact and has been hosted, up until 2020, at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Due to the pandemic, in 2021 the conference was hosted online for the first time, reaching 50,000 people. In 2022 the hosts, Alpha, hope to reach even more people with a message of hope, unity and transformation.

We're all leaders in our own sphere and we hope that the Leadership Conference will play a part in helping to inspire and encourage Christians all around the world to share the love of Jesus".
