Dominicans elect new leader
An Argentinian has been elected as the new Master General of the Dominican order. Fr Carlos Azpiroz, 44, was chosen during the order's General Chapter at Rhode Island, last Saturday, by 127 delegates, representing more than 6,000 members. Fr Carlos succeeds Fr Timothy Radcliffe. He is the second non-European master general of the Dominicans. A specialist in canon law, he will serve for a nine-year term.
