Kidnapped missionary 'in good health'
Fr Guiseppe 'Beppe' Pierantoni, who was kidnapped from his parish in the Philippines on 17 October, is reported to be in good health. The Missionary News Service said they have been assured by the Bishop of Pagadian, Zacaharias Jimenez, that the Italian Sacred Heart missionary is well. Concerns were raised over Fr Beppe's health some weeks ago when it was learnt that he was suffering for amoebic dysentery and his abductors asked for medicines for him. On 29 November, fighting between security forces and the Moro National Liberation Fron broke out in the area where it is believed the priest is being held. However missionary sources say they are hopeful he will be released in the next few days.
