Catholic Children's Society bids farewell to three managers
The Catholic Children's Society (Westminster) said goodbye to three managers on Thursday. Sisters Florence Kavanagh, Jane Maltby and Olivia Ward, who ran the family centre, child therapeutic and family therapy services have all been promoted to new posts within their orders. Jim Richards, director, said: "Altogether they have given more than 32 years to the Children's Society. They will be much missed, not least by the many children and families who were given so much help by their skills." Mgr Harry Turner, episcopal vicar in Westminster's Central Area, spoke at the Farewell Mass. He said: "You are leaving the Society in a better state than when you joined, because of what you have been and what you are as people. You have brought a lot of goodness out of people." Sr Florence is an Irish Sister of Charity and has been appointed Superior in Scotland. Sr Jane is a Sacred Heart and is going to her Order's General Council in Rome. Sr Olivia is becoming Provincial of the Good Shepherd Sisters.
