Bishop of Clifton to celebrate Mass for peace in Middle East
The Bishop of Clifton, Right Reverend Declan Lang, will celebrate a Mass for Peace at 9.30am this Sunday, 23 July, in Clifton Cathedral, Pembroke Road, Bristol. Bishop Declan said: "I will offer the Cathedral's weekly Family Mass with the intention of resolving the violence in the Middle East and the devastating consequence this is having on ordinary people. "Violence can never be the solution. Help is desperately needed in the Middle East and we must hope and pray that those wielding influence can use their power to ease the terror and desperation of the families and individuals caught up in this alarming spiral of violence." Bishop Declan has asked for prayers for peace, reconciliation and justice in the Middle East to be said in all Churches throughout the Clifton Diocese, which covers Gloucestershire, Somerset, Wiltshire as well as Bristol.
