Priests Against Genocide to gather in Rome for meeting and march

On Tuesday 22 September, around 100 priests - from eight countries around the world and various regions of Italy - from the 'Priests Against Genocide' network will gather in Rome. The morning will be devoted to an internal meeting, closed to the public.

The public part of the day will begin at 3pm with a moment of prayer at the Church of Santo Spirito in Sassia (Borgo Santo Spirito). At 3.30pm the priests will set off on a march along Via della Conciliazione, carrying a shroud bearing the names of 300 Palestinian and Lebanese children killed since the declaration of the two "ceasefires."

There will be five stops, with prayers in different languages: Piazza Pio XII - Embassies of Palestine and Lebanon - Via Cola di Rienzo - Piazza Mazzini - and arrival at Piazza Monte Grappa

After reaching Piazza Pio XII the procession will continue on to Via di Porta Angelica, where they will sing a song about Taybeh (West Bank), composed specifically for the occasion by Father Xavier Morlans. They will then continue along Via Cola di Rienzo toward Piazza Giuseppe Mazzini, concluding around 5.30pm in Piazza Monte Grappa, inside the Simonetta Cesaroni Garden, facing the headquarters of Leonardo SpA.
