Naza wins Special Jury Prize at 2026 Venice Film Festival

Naza, a British film directed by Israel filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, who made the Oscar-winning No Other Land last year, has won the Special Jury Prize at the 2026 Venice Film Festival.

The film was the only documentary selected at this year's competition. It is chilling examination of Israel's use of AI-assisted systems in the killing of civilians in Gaza. The film looks at the technology and systems behind these operations while questioning their human cost.

Naza was shot in Tel Aviv during the ongoing Gaza war, and reveals the Israeli government officials' role in the killing of thousands of Palestinian civilians during the conflict through 24 interviews with anonymised military and intelligence insiders.

After the film was screened, Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, received a 25 minute standing ovation.
