The Polish Catholic Mission said in a statement today: "We received with deep sorrow the news that on August 17, 2026, at the age of 50 and after 25 years of priesthood, Fr Dariusz Mazur, parish priest of the Parish of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Zawad, passed away.
Fr Dariusz served the Polish community in Great Britain for many years, working for many years in the Polish Catholic Mission in England and Wales. His last place of service in Great Britain was the Polish Parish in Gloucester and Cheltenham. He returned to Poland a year ago.
We remember his many years of pastoral service among the Polish community and the good deeds he left behind in the communities he entrusted to him.
Today, 19 August, a Funeral Mass was held in the Parish of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Zawad presided over by Abbot Wacław Depo, Metropolitan of Częstochowa.
On Thursday, 20 August 20, 2026, at 12 noon there will be a Funeral Mass in the Parish of St Joseph the Worker in Pustkowo (between Dębic and Mielce), in the Tarnowskie diocese, presided by Fr Antoni Długosz.
After the Mass, the body of the late Fr Dariusz will be laid to rest in the family cemetery at the parish cemetery.
We ask the priests and faithful of the Polish Catholic Mission in England and Wales to pray for our deceased colleague and chaplain.
Grant him eternal rest, O Lord,
and may eternal light shine upon him.
May he rest in eternal peace. Amen."
