Into Full Communion - The Story of Anglicanorum Coetibus

One of the greatest strengths of the Catholic Church is its diversity. Sadly far to often diversity becomes a source of division and conflict rather than joy and fellowship. Let us not forget the words in Corinthians Chapter 1 where we are reminded that we are all one body or indeed Psalm 133 which talks about dwelling in unity!

Joanna Bogle has produced a wonderfully informative little book exploring the background story to the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, a journey which for many had plenty of challenges but also joys along the way.

The book examines a journey that has left its mark on the history of the Catholic Church and a journey which indeed has still not ended, it is an easy read that gives the reader some very interesting information leading to the publication of Anglicanorum Coetibus and the early years of the Ordinariate.

The story of the Ordinariate is one that is much wider than Anglicans simply becoming Catholic, and certainly much more wider than liturgy and good coffee after Mass! Its about authenticity, truth and beauty. The book explores first hand perspectives of those who were involved with the initial formation of the Ordinariate and some of the many fruits that have both directly and indirectly come from those labours.

The Ordinariate as an institution has enabled many Catholics to be exposed to good liturgy and Anglican patrimony not to mention fellowship and formation, this book details several aspects of this and highlights a story that needs to be shared.

This is enjoyable book will enrich the readers knowledge on why and how the Ordinariate came into formation and more importantly why both Anglicanorum Coetibus and the Ordinariate as a whole are treasures to be shared.
