London: Song cycle celebrating St Francis of Assisi

Francesco, a beautiful new song cycle by Anglo-Italian composer Daniel Zappi, celebrating the incredible life and legacy of St Francis of Assisi, who died 800 years ago this year takes place at St Luke's Church, West Holloway, Hillmarton Road, London N7 9JE, at 7.45pm on Wednesday 20th May.
Performed by Daniel Zappi, Caroline Faber and Justin Butcher, thee songs vary in style from classical choral to folk to musical theatre, and celebrate St Francis' radical embrace of poverty and simplicity, his awestruck reverence for nature, his commitment to peace and befriending 'the other' - and his profound, ecstatic devotion to prayer, contemplation, mindfulness, meditation. Truly, a saint for our times whose vision and mission is needed more than ever.
All ticket revenue will be donated to the work of Amos Trust in Palestine, specifically, to the production at this year's Edinburgh Fringe of Majenin - a Palestinian love story, a new poignant romantic comedy by Palestinian comedian and playwright Marena Riyad from Ramallah, West Bank, Palestine, with an all-Palestinian cast, at the Pleasance Edinburgh.
