The real Saint George

Justin with the frescoes of St George
On the trail of a Palestinian saint, Justin Butcher visits St Botolph's Church in Hardham, Sussex, in this short film, to see the oldest known images in the world depicting Saint George, patron saint of England, on his feast day.
The real St George was a 3rd century Palestinian Christian martyr who stood up against the tyranny of the Roman emperor in defence of a persecuted minority, and has become a figure of multi-faith veneration in the Middle East.
