Southwark: Encounter Pentecost at St George's Cathedral

Image ICN/JS
Following last year's wonderful gathering on Pentecost Saturday with Archbishop John Wilson at Aylesford Priory, when over 3000 people travelled from all over the Southwark diocese to celebrate together, St George's cathedral, the mother church of Southwark, is hoping to recapture some of the same spirit with a celebration day of faith and fun for all the family at its Encounter Pentecost Day on Saturday 23rd May 2026 - 10am to 5pm.
Activities include a special programme for children and teens as well as talks and testimonies, stalls selling food from Ghana, Nigeria, the Caribbean and Latin America and an opportunity to find out more about various ministries and groups working in the diocese. There will be different kinds of prayer opportunities including the Rosary, Confessions, Adoration, prayer for healing and a chant workshop. The keynote address in the morning will be given by Fr Emmanuel Mansford CFR and the day will finish with a concelebrated Mass. Free entry.
