Sir John Battle is this year's speaker for the online Anthony Storey Memorial Lecture, entitled: 'Hope in Turbulent Times' on Wednesday, 13 May 7pm.
John was MP for Leeds West for over twenty years until he retired in 2010. Since retirement he has remained totally committed to his Leeds area and has gone on to be an active part of a number of community projects in West Leeds. He is a leading anti-poverty campaigner and a trustee of Caritas Social Action Network as well as a number of local Leeds charities. He currently chairs the Leeds Diocesan Justice and Peace Commission.
This is a wonderful opportunity for people to experience John's energy and enthusiasm and to benefit from his insight and wisdom and his commitment to the common good.
The title comes from recognition of the current turbulent times we are living in and the importance of finding hope both within our communities and in wider society.
The lecture will be on Zoom at 7pm. To register for the lecture please e.mail bhungin@yahoo.co.uk
