Does science pose a threat to today's Catholicism?

Dr Gareth Leyshon delivered a fascinating Catholic Union webinar exploring whether science posed a threat to today's Catholicism. Chaired by Prof Peter Hindmarsh, Chair of the Catholic Union Charitable Trust, the event was extremely well attended and provided much for attendees to think about.
Revd Dr Gareth Leyshon, Astrophysicist, Catholic Priest of the Archdiocese of Cardiff-Menevia and parish priest of the four churches comprising Our Lady of the Valleys concluded by saying that "we can affirm the Catholic faith but must avoid pitfalls. The threat is ignorance. The solution is faith with reason, don't stop believing".
Professor Peter Hindmarsh says: "Father Gareth was immensely generous with his time and preparation and I am delighted that those unable to attend the event will be able to watch a recording. The webinar covered a lot of ground, from Fr Gareth's letter to Patrick Moore to combining intellectual and scientific rigour with faith and humility".
A recording of the webinar can be watched here alongside Fr Gareth's slides and reading list.
The Catholic Union's next webinar will be on Monday 20 April, on: The Place of Beauty. Chaired by Catherine Pepinster, well known journalist, attendees will hear from Father Patrick van der Vorst and Stefan Kaminski.
