For the second year in a row yesterday, Mr James Stacey, led a walking pilgrimage for pupils from St Joseph's Catholic Primary school in Chelsea across London to Westminster Cathedral, Southwark Cathedral, finishing on the steps of St Paul's Cathedral. The pilgrims included parents, teachers, pupils and alumni of the school together with members of the Trust team.
They were met at Westminster Cathedral, in the St Joseph's Chapel, by Archbishop Richard Moth, who led them in prayer and wished them all a Happy St Joseph's Day for today, Thursday 19 March. Mr Stacey said: "this was an opportunity to introduce our school community to Archbishop Moth and we hope that he will visit us very soon."
The pilgrimage was part of a number of wider celebratory events, forming the school's Giving Day, a 36-hour series of events held at the school to encourage fundraising from the wider community. The event began on 18 March and finishes today - St Joseph's Day. All donations received will be used to fund vital roof repairs at the school.
Mr Stacey is Head of School, St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Chelsea, part of the Saint John Southworth Catholic Academy Trust.
