Write to the Foreign Secretary: Oppose Israel's annexation of West Bank

Yesterday, Netanyahu's government backed a proposal from far-right ministers to reinstate a deeply discriminatory land registration process in the West Bank - a mechanism historically used to dispossess Palestinians of their land. Under this system, Palestinians will be forced to "prove" ownership through complex and often impossible legal hurdles, while illegal Israeli settlements continue to expand.
These steps further entrench Israel's illegal occupation and apartheid system, paving the way for large-scale land seizures and settlement expansion. The British government must respond by implementing wide ranging sanctions against Israel.
In July 2024 the International Court of Justice ruled Israel's occupation of Palestinian territory to be illegal, found Israel to be guilty of the crime of apartheid, and called on all states to take measures to bring an end to these grave violations of international law. A year and a half later, the British government has shamefully still not responded to this landmark ruling.
During that time, the situation for Palestinians has rapidly deteriorated - with Israel continuing its genocide in the Gaza Strip, and escalating violence and repression against Palestinians across all of historic Palestine.
On several occasions Pope Francis and Pope Leo have expressed strong concerns about Israel's plans to annex parts of the West Bank, emphasising that such actions undermine the rule of law and exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in the region. The Vatican's position is that the only viable solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict must include the establishment of a Palestinian state, highlighting the right of Palestinians to live in peace in their own land. Additionally, Catholic church leaders have called for the protection of civilians and sacred places, condemning violence and forced displacement as unacceptable.
Please take two minutes to join us and demand that the British government takes action to end its complicity:
