CAFOD's Christmas Fun Runs

CAFOD's Christmas Fun Runs are back with Frank Cottrell-Boyce and FCJ religious sisters Lynne and MaryAnne leading the charge!
CAFOD's popular Christmas Fun Runs are back on Saturday 27 December 2025, bringing together communities in Liverpool and Bollington for a morning filled with joy, fresh air and festive cheer, all in support of families around the world facing poverty and injustice.
After an incredible year in 2024, which saw Liverpool celebrate its 40th anniversary with over 400 participants and more than £15,000 raised, we're excited to welcome both returning supporters and new faces for another unforgettable year of festive fun.
Whether you're joining us on the athletics track in Liverpool or taking in the scenic Middlewood Way in Bollington, both fun runs offer the perfect chance to walk or run off the Christmas sweets, enjoy time with loved ones, and make a real difference with every step.
Liverpool - Wavertree Sports Park, Wellington Road, Liverpool, L15 4LE
Back on the Wavertree athletics track, the Liverpool Fun Run offers a choice of 3k or 5k fully marshalled routes, all set within a buzzing event village featuring live music, face painting, hot drinks, and festive treats.
The run will once again be opened by our Christmas Fun Run ambassador and 2024 Children's Laureate, Frank Cottrell-Boyce, a long-time supporter who brings his signature warmth and enthusiasm to the morning.
As one participant shared last year: "This was my first CAFOD Fun Run, and I really enjoyed it - I'll definitely be back again next year!"
Bollington Fun Run - Middlewood Way (viaduct next to St Gregory's Church), Bollington, Macclesfield, SK10 5JR
The Bolly Fun Run has become a cherished local tradition, with families and friends gathering on the Middlewood Way in their brightest festive fancy dress. Whether covered in tinsel, jingling with bells, or running as full-on Santa, everyone is welcome.
Runners, walkers, and even four-legged friends can take on this accessible route, creating a joyful celebration of community, hope and solidarity.
Sue Smith is getting involved again! CAFOD ambassador and former England International footballer Sue Smith has shared her encouragement ahead of this year's event:
"This year we want to keep that momentum going, and we want to make it another brilliant day. So, whether you're a serious runner or you just fancy a festive walk with the family, there's something for everybody. And of course, the most important thing is you'll be making a real difference. You'll be helping communities around the world tackling poverty and injustice. So, please come along and be part of something so special."
