Former JRS UK Director Sarah Teather appointed to House of Lords

Sarah Teather, the former director of Jesuit Refugee Services, is one of 34 new political peers appointed to the House of Lords.
Before serving at JRS, Sarah Teather was a LibDem MP for Brent East and Brent Central and Minister of State at the Department for Education.
A spokeswoman for the Jesuit Refugee Service UK said: "Congratulations to our former director, Sarah Teather, upon her appointment to the House of Lords.
"At a time when Parliament needs more voices championing the rights of refugees, Sarah's experience and commitment will be essential in shaping a more humane asylum system. We look forward to working with her to amplify the voices of women, men, and children seeking sanctuary."
