This week marks 108 years since the Balfour Declaration - the moment Britain pledged to support the creation of a 'national home for the Jewish people' in Palestine while disregarding the rights of the land's majority population.

In his latest article, Dr Brian Brivati, Executive Director of the Britain Palestine Project, gives his personal view of how that same imperial mindset, the belief that Western powers can redraw maps and decide destinies, continues to shape policies toward Palestine today.
