Exhibition: Defiant love in times of war: Holiness under the Third Reich

Blessed Natalia Tulasiewicz
This year, as we commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, an exhibition of paintings by Ruben Ferreria : 'Defiant Love in Times of War: Holiness under the Third Reich.' has arrived at the London Jesuit Centre (114 Mount Street, Mayfair) - for the whole month of October, starting today.
This collection of artworks is more than just a display; it's a window into the lives of extraordinary individuals who, amidst the despair, prejudice, and hatred of the Third Reich, dared to choose love. From members of the Resistance, Consecrated and Lay people, objectors of conscience, an entire family and even a survivor of the Atomic Bomb. These remarkable figures remind us that when kindness and compassion can cost one's life, they shine like a miracle, revealing the enduring strength of our shared humanity.
Through vibrant art, this exhibition brings to life stories of courage, resilience, and unwavering love. These lives are profoundly current for our times, offering a vital message that goodness and love can triumph over evil, even in the darkest hours. This exhibition is an invitation to be inspired by their unwavering courage and faith and to reflect on the transformative power of defiant love.
Portraits include: St Maximilian Kolbe, the Blessed Ulma family, St Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, Blessed Sarah Sakahazi, Blessed Franz Jagerstatter and Blessed Natalia Tulasiewicz.
The exhibition is on Monday to Friday: 9am to 8pm Saturday and Sunday: 9am to 2pm)
