A pupil in Year 13 at the Sacred Heart of Mary Girls' School in Upminster, Isabel Hegarty, has won First Prize in this year's St Mary's Theology essay competition.
Isabel was awarded her prize on Friday by Dr Jeremy Pilch, Head of Theology at St Mary's University and Bishop James Curry, Auxiliary Bishop of Westminster.
Her essay: 'Why were so many people received into the Catholic Church in the UK at Easter 2025?' impressed the judges.
Headteacher Vivienne Qurrey told ICN: " We are so proud of her!"
