Webinar on the Biosphere of Genocide

Source: The Britain Palestine Project Team

The next Britain Palestine Project (formerly the Balfour Project) webinar is in one week. Dr Ghassan Abu-Sittah, a British-Palestinian Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon; Lord Rector, University of Glasgow (2024); and Professor of Conflict Medicine at AUBMC will be speaking on the Biosphere of Genocide on Monday 8 September, 3-4pm (UK time)

Why this matters? In October-November 2023, Dr Abu-Sittah spent 43 days operating in Gaza at Shifa and Al-Ahli Baptist Hospitals; his testimony has informed submissions to the ICJ and ICC.

The biosphere is the physical, biological, and social environment that people inhabit. It shapes and determines their health. War, and this genocidal war in Gaza being the most extreme form of it, turns this biosphere into a biosphere that takes away people's health and lives in a multitude of interconnected conduits; where the destruction of the physical, the alteration of the biological through injury, and the destruction of the social all work together in synergy - and separately - to shape a new reality of human health that is the product of this war.

Bring your questions-there will be a live Q&A.
