Gaza Offensive - Israel given green light to remove Palestine from the map

Reacting to Israel's new offensive on Gaza City, Christian Aid's Head of Middle East Policy and Advocacy, William Bell, said: "Christian Aid's partners in Gaza report widespread panic this morning and immense suffering amongst a population who are already facing starvation and extreme hardship.
"Without any meaningful intervention by the international community - including the UK Government - the State of Israel has essentially been given a green light to remove Palestine from the map.
"If Israel's allies do not step in and stop both the bombardment of Gaza and the continued illegal settlement of the West Bank, they will be complicit in the attempted destruction and erasure of a nation. Just recognizing Palestine is not enough to save it."
Christian Aid has worked with Palestinians since the 1950s after the Middle East Council of Churches requested assistance supporting Palestinian refugees. These refugees have never been allowed to return to their homes.
