On 22nd July 2025, the Young Professionals Interfaith Network (YPIN) was launched as a collaboration between James Holland (Coordinator of Westminster Interfaith) and James Roberts.
The Network exists to connect young people who have a professional interest in interfaith work, providing a space for networking, engagement and learning. More than 25 young professionals gathered at the LSE Faith Centre (who generously hosted the event) for the launch of the network, with participants from a wide range of faiths, beliefs and professions.
Those gathered were addressed by Rabbi Charley Baginsky (Co-Lead of Progressive Judaism) and Professor James Walters (Director of the LSE Faith Centre), who shared their insights into interfaith work - the challenges, joys and their hopes for the future.
Rabbi Charley spoke about the importance of staying joyful in interfaith activity, whilst highlighting the need for young professionals in this sector to have the courage to say what is difficult and still stay in relationship. Professor James shared his reflections on how young people can cultivate, together, the society they want to see, through building relationships, spaces and solidarity. YPIN seeks to provide this space, where young professionals can foster a sense of solidarity and build vital relationships across faiths, beliefs and professions.
The co-founders of YPIN commented on the launch, saying, 'We are excited to be connecting inspirational young professionals who are making tangible contributions to interfaith engagement. We hope this network will be a chance to support one another and to build a collaborative, influential community for the benefit of interfaith relations across society.'
