Cathedral to Cathedral challenge: Day 1

Early start outside Westminster Cathedral
An update on the three boys from Cardinal Vaughan who are on their way to Paris. After a 6am start yesterday from Westminster Cathedral, they had a gruelling 10-hour cycle to Dover. It's certainly tougher than they thought, and 16-year-olds do tend to underestimate the challenge.
Jamie Currid said, "We knew it would be tough, but no amount of planning prepared us for the gradual inclines that sap your spirit; you get a downhill stretch, but then yet another uphill, which is so demoralising. And after flat tyres and a broken chain, we only just made it in time for the ferry to Calais. I have never been so tired!"
After a repair session in Calais, today is another 11-hour cycle from Calais to Cathédrale Notre-Dame d'Amiens, with the hope of arriving before sunset. Then onwards to Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral tomorrow.
