Saints of Southwark come to life

Saints of Southwark (see bigger version in the Facebook link below)
As part of the Jubilee celebrations this year, children in Southwark will be given an opportunity to get to know some of the key saints associated with the diocese. These include St Augustine of Canterbury, St Thomas Beckett, St John Fisher, St Dunstan, St Simon Stock and Mother Cabrini as well as less well known saints such as St Mildred and St Bertha and Blessed David Gonson, St Alphege and St Theodore of Canterbury.
The saints will be mingling with the crowds at the big open air Jubilee celebration day at Aylesford Priory on Saturday 7th June. This will be a day of faith and fun, with lots of activities for all the family and culminating in Mass celebrated by Archbishop John Wilson. The children will be given a map of the grounds and sent to discover and interact with the saints and learn more about them an their lives.
The volunteers last week tried on their costumes ready for the big day.
