A Greek Orthodox parish priest was among several Christians killed in an Israeli airstrike today in southern Lebanon.

Initial reports shared by Quds News Network, said that Father Gregorius Saloum, who led the Orthodox parish in Ibl al-Saqi, southern Lebanon, had been seriously injured, along with his wife and children in a rocket attack on their home. Later it was reported that Fr Gregorius had died of his injuries.

There have been a number of other Christian casualties since the Israeli onslaught began.

Yesterday, Kfour, a Christian village near Nabatieh, was hit by Israeli fire, with heavy damages to the local church. Earlier, the Christian majority village of Aïn el-Delb, near Sidon, was hit by Israeli planes. 32 deaths have been confirmed, including a Christian woman. There are also many injured people.

A source told AsiaNews that the Israelis had been seeking to kill a local Hezbollah fighter.
