Westminster LGBT+ Catholics 25th anniversary weekend
Westminster LGBT+ Catholics celebrated their 25th anniversary over the weekend with a day conference at the London Jesuit Centre on Saturday and a special Mass at the Jesuit Church of the Immaculate Conception in Farm Street on Trinity Sunday.
Fr Timothy Radcliffe OP gave the Keynote Address at the conference(see link below). Bishop Paul McAleenan was the chief celebrant and preached at the Mass. A number of priests, including some who were part of a Presiding Rota for LGBT+ Catholics Westminster's Masses in previous locations, concelebrated the Mass.
The Mass included music specially composed to mark the anniversary. A special intercession was included in the Bidding Prayers at all Farm Street Masses, Saturday/Sunday, 25/26 May 2024:
As LGBT+ Catholics Westminster marks its 25th Anniversary this month as a welcoming, Eucharistic community, we pray that the Spirit may enable all God's people to celebrate the radical inclusion of Christ whom we know in the Breaking of the Bread. Lord, in your mercy - Hear our prayer.
The newly-elected (and first Catholic) Lord Mayor of the City of Westminster, Cllr Robert Rigby, and the Lady Mayoress also attended.
