Exhibition: Look Back to Look Forward - 50 Years of the Irish in Britain

A free exhibition: Look Back to Look Forward: 50 Years of the Irish in Britain, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Irish in Britain has opened at the London Irish Centre in Camden Square.

The heritage project, which has already visited Hammersmith, Liverpool, Leeds and Birmingham uses oral history to portray the Irish community's resilience, diversity and enduring contribution to modern Britain. This roadshow exhibition, which has been visited by thousands of people across the UK, showcases 50 fascinating and diverse life stories to help educate the public in migration and the modern history of Britain and Ireland.

This exhibition provides an opportunity for more people in London to learn about the experience of the Irish in Britain, and the remarkable community work, social engagement and political activism that takes place every day.

Look Back to Look Forward: 50 Years of the Irish in Britain is on at the The London Irish Centre from Friday 5th - Sunday 14th January 2024
