Radio Maria England celebrated their fourth anniversary of broadcasting in the UK recently with Eucharistic Adoration, Praying the Rosary, Holy Mass and a reception at Our Lady of the Assumption and English Martyrs Church, Cambridge.

Bishop Emeritus Alan Hopes presided over Mass with Radio Maria's Priest-Director, Fr Toby Lees co-celebrating on Thursday 26 October.

Radio Maria England began broadcasting on 1 November 2019. It is a 24-hour Catholic Radio Station dedicated to airing programmes that promote and express the Christian Faith.

Its primary goal is to provide support to Catholics and others in their spiritual journeys whilst offering insight to those interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith.

Radio Maria England is part of the World Family of Radio Maria formed in 1998 in response to the apparitions and messages of Our Lady in Medjugorje and Fatima. Globally, there are almost 100 Radio Maria stations around the world.

Radio Maria England's priest director, Fr Toby Lees, said: "As a priest, it's a privilege to have this platform to preach the Good News into people's cars, homes, and places of work. It's a privilege to be able to give a voice to so many talented, faith-filled people up and down the country, and indeed overseas. It's a privilege to hear from ever more people whose lives are being transformed and nourished by this radio. That's the mission of Radio Maria, to share in the mission of Mary, our Mother, in saying 'yes' to God in order that the whole world might come to know her Son; to ponder all that Jesus has said in our hearts and to pass on that wisdom to those who might otherwise be 'like sheep without a shepherd' (Matthew 9:36).

During the adoration and prayers, Radio Maria volunteers led the Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary. Bishop Alan was delighted to celebrate Mass as he was instrumental in helping Radio Maria begin in his diocese of East Anglia in 2019.

Bishop Peter Collins, current Bishop of East Anglia sent his regrets and an audio blessing to Radio Maria, which was broadcast on-air.

Over a hundred volunteers and listeners attended from across Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk for the evening's celebrations.
