Jo and David during a recent visit to London by the Tenacious - moored by HMS President
Dear Readers,
On 24 September, the Feast of Our Lady of Walsingham, I'm going to be joining a small team accompanying our wheelchair-bound friend David and another disabled friend, Abi, climbing up Mount Snowdon - to raise funds for the Jubilee Sailing Trust - which runs the Tenacious - the only tall ship in the world adapted to take a mixed ability crew of people with disabilities and those abled-bodied.
The ship was designed and built by volunteers in 2000. Since that time it has taken 25,000 people to sea - all over the world, including more than 10,000 with disabilities.
The charity is in danger of closing after two years of Covid.
We are hoping the same teamwork used on the ship will help us get up the mountain and raise enough cash to save the Tenacious. Please say a prayer for us - our fundraiser is closed now but please sign our petition here: www.tenacious.org.uk/2024/01/19/sign-our-petition/
Many thanks
