As we approach the Solemnity of Corpus Christi during this unusual time of pandemic, Cardinal Vincent Nichols has recorded the following message about the meaning of this 'most wonderful feast' which 'takes us right to the heart of God's gift of himself given to us through Jesus, a gift not given once, but permanently there, permanently present in the Blessed Sacrament."
The Cardinal reflects that, "this year, during this time of sadness and deprivation", the celebration of Corpus Christi "will have that extra depth to it as we ponder again the greatness of the Lord's gift of himself to us in the in the Blessed Sacrament, the Sacrifice of the Mass, and as we come out of this time of Eucharistic fasting and to be restored in the fuller practice of our faith."
Join Cardinal Vincent for Mass on BBC Radio 4 on Sunday at 8.10am from Westminster Cathedral.
