Volunteer opportunities at London Jesus Centre

The Crisis Shower Hub urgently needs volunteers to help run the shower and laundry hub on weekdays.
About the Role: In response to the current difficulties that rough sleepers in Westminster are facing due to the coronavirus outbreak, we are offering free access to showers and a laundry service for up to 10 clients a day. The Hub will operate as a referral only, appointment-based system in close collaboration with Westminster outreach teams and other voluntary partners. Due to the need for social distancing and other measures to protect against COVID-19 transmission, extra precautions are being taken and the project is being carefully risk assessed and reviewed.
Purpose: To assist Crisis Hub in facilitating access to showers for referred clients.
Tasks: To greet guests outside Centre and confirm their details;to monitor the shower rota and direct clients towards shower facilities; to clean and disinfect shower room before and after use; to help organise and distribute selected donations
More information: PPE: We will provide gloves, aprons and masks for volunteers; two members of staff will be present in the building during shift; you will be working alongside and under the direction of member of staff; building large enough to accommodate 2m social distancing indoors during the shift; volunteers holding a First Aid Certificate desirable; the role does not involve making any physical contact with or being alone with a client or any other person. Service risk assessed and revised after ever session to endure safety in light of COVID-19

Monday - Friday - 9:30- 12:00
Monday - Friday 12:50 - 15:30pm
