Video: Candles in the Night - a Prayer for the World

Just before the eve of the Feast of the Ascension, parish priest Canon Pat Browne and visiting seminarian Patrick van der Vorst, from Holy Apostles church in Pimlico, central London, have released a beautiful short film called Candles in the Night - a Prayer for the World. For the past few weeks, although the church has been closed because of the Covid-19 crisis, parishioners who are on lockdown, have been able to watch Masses and prayers online. A few weeks ago, they began sending in their photographs, which have been placed in the pews where they would normally sit.

In the video, Fr Pat and Patrick light candles in between the pictures, and the prayers - for the parish, medics, carers and essential workers and the world - have all been filmed by candlelight. The readers are Betty Tech-Lu and Sarah Harcher.
