London: Dominicans to celebrate feast of Translation of Relics of St Dominic
Friday the 24th of May is the feast of the Translation of the Relics of St Dominic, a day which recalls the transfer of his body into a wonderful new Shrine in Bologna in 1233.
St Dominic's, Haverstock Hill will be celebrating their patronal feast day with a Solemn Mass at 6pm with music sung by a special Choir, and a children's Choir from the Rosary School. The Mass will be celebrated and preached by Dom David Charlesworth OSB, former Abbot of Buckfast Abbey.
At the close of the Mass, the new Mysteries of Light Rosary Garden will be officially opened and blessed, and the new statue of Our Lady of Cana will be blessed. Afterwards, there will be a buffet and drinks reception in the parish Hall.
All are welcome for an evening of prayer, song, and festivities in honour of Our Lady of the Rosary and St Dominic.
