London: Talk and prayer service on Bl Oscar Romero


A Guiding Light for our Times - a short service of prayer and a talk on soon-to-be Saint Oscar Romero, led by Mr Julian Filochowski and Fr David Stewart SJ, takes place this Thursday, 19 July, in the Old Refectory, St Ignatius' parish, Stamford Hill, north London. Evening Mass in the parish church is at 6.30pm. The talk begins at 7.15pm.

Julian Filochowski, former director of CAFOD, knew Archbishop Romero well.

Martyred in El Salvador for standing up for justice for the poor, in 1976, Oscar Romero will be canonised on 14th October alongside Blessed Pope Paul VI.
