Gidea Park: Dr Clare Watkins on the Catholic Vision of Marriage

Dr Clare Watkins

Dr Clare Watkins

Christ the Eternal High Priest Church in Gidea Park, Essex is hosting a study day with Dr Clare Watkins on the Catholic Vision of Marriage this Saturday.

The day will provide an opportunity to think more deeply about the theology and living of marriage and family from a Catholic understanding. Drawing on Amoris Laetitia, and the longer Church tradition, Clare will present an integrated vision of theology and practice, and encourage participants to reflect on their own particular engagement with the challenges and blessing of this fundamental area of marriage and family life.

Dr Clare Watkins is Reader in Ecclesiology and Practical Theology at the University of Roehampton. Her work has focused on lay living in the Catholic church, and ecumenically, with a particular interest in practice based theologies of baptism, marriage and family. She has worked with Marriage Care, and the Bishops' Conference Department for Marriage and Family Life on a number of projects.

All are welcome. Admission is free but booking essential by email GPstudydays@gmail.com
Coffee will be available from 10.30am. Please bring your own lunch. Local eateries available. Easy access by road from the M25 and Gallows Corner. Ample free parking available at the church. Three minutes' walk from Gidea Park station. Please check the Abellio Greater Anglia website for possible service alterations.
